Benom Wines

Painting by Agata Zaborowski

Arnaud and Guillaume Fabre moved to California for love. For Guillaume, it was his passion for winemaking and farming without limits that brought him to Paso Robles. This love led him to one of the most prestigious wineries in Paso Robles, L’Aventure, and eventually to start his winery, Clos Solène. Arnaud’s story is much more like that of a movie scene. His move to California was to follow the love of his life, Chloe. This is how the two brothers -Les Deux Frères Fabre- ended up in Paso Robles.

The story gets far more interesting, but you will have to come find out for yourself!

As a tribute to the six-generation family legacy in the Languedoc-Roussillon and Bordeaux regions, BENOM harmoniously combines the freedom of winemaking in Paso Robles with the innate talent of the Fabre bloodline.

Vie Winery

Vie comes from the Old French word meaning "to invite" or "to give occasion for". Or, in French today, it is simply translated "Life". Vie Winery is fantastic, it has the look and feel of an urban winery, but the displacement of being on Treasure Island so you are able to feel like it is a bit of an escape. WIth beautiful views of San Francisco and the rest of the bay area, it is an awesome place to spend a beautiful day.

Tablas Creek

Tablas Creek bottles are widely distributed and easy to find in wine stores, I don't always visit their tasting room. Not only can I often find better deals at wine shops, but I have a fairly good idea what wines of theirs I prefer so a tasting isn't extremely helpful. But, I can't resist and it helps that they increased the size of the tasting menu. It also helps that they will pour and sell wines not on the typical tasting run-down and not typically found in stores.

Karly Winery

The winery started as a hobby in 1978, and then evolved into a business for ex-fighter pilot Buck Cobb who named it for his wife Karly. Karly Wines was one of the four original wineries in the Shenandoah Valley of Amador. Amador County producer of Zinfandel, Mediterranean varietals, Sauvignon Blanc, and dessert wines.

Four Brix

Four Brix Winery – an urban winery located in the heart of Ventura – specializes in internationally-inspired wine blends. Four Brix Winery produces wines based upo therr four favorite grape growing regions: Italy, France, Spain and California. The word “Brix” is a term for measurement of sugar in grapes; therefore Four Brix equals four sweets spots for great wine! With a total production of around 1,000 cases, these wines are very limited and in high demand.

Tercero Wines

Tercero Wines Santa Barbara County

tercero wines is the brainchild of Larry Schaffer, owner and winemaker. He began the brand shortly after graduating with his Masters Degree in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis – but this was well after he had completely switched directions in life and charted a new and exciting path.

Larry started his college career at UC Davis as an undergraduate, but had no interest in wine. The idea of getting into wine was something he had considered in the past – but more on the sales and marketing side because of his background. After graduating with his degree, he joined the winemaking team at Fess Parker Winery, where he stayed for nearly a decade before it was time to branch off and concentrate 100% on his own brand – and he could not be happier today.

Larry is adept not only at winemaking but at explaining the process in a very user-friendly manner. Visit his tasting room or follow him on social media to see for yourself.

Old 44 Cellars

Here is a boutique winery in the Shasta Cascade area in Palo Cedro just a few minutes east of Redding, CA. Old 44 grows just under 4 acres of estate fruit for their wines. WInner of several awards produced and Grown in Shasta County.

San Pasqual Winery

Did you know that the first wine grapes planted in "Alta California" were at the Misíon San Diego de Alcalá in 1781? The traditions and history of San Diego inspire the folks at San Pasqual Winery to create wines that evoke the simple yet refined days of haciendas and ranchos of Old California.

Seven Angels Cellars

Seven Angels Cellars is a family-owned, boutique winery. Greg and Pamela Martin began making wine in 2009 with a small production of Petite Sirah. Greg is the owner/winemaker along with Pamela who handles social media, food pairings, wine club and club events, and the website. The story behind the name came from our passion for family. We have seven children in our blended family, our 7 angels.

We both grew up loving wine. Greg grew up in a rural area of California with neighbors who grew wine grapes. He spent a lot of time learning about the entire process from the vine to the bottle from his patient neighbor. He continued his interest in wine as a US Coast Guard when he was stationed in the bay area and had easy access to the multitude of wineries in Sonoma and Napa. Pamela comes from a family of foodies and wine enthusiasts. She took courses in college in winemaking and learned the biology aspect of wine. She worked in catering and on TV as a home economist for a cooking show. Pairing food and wine to create an interesting and delightful balance in a meal has become an obsession for her.

This family-owned winery specializes in Rhone blends as well as single varietals. Greg has his eyes, and hands in every aspect of the process from the field to the bottle. Pamela has the palate and the nose and is instrumental in the blending.
