Napa

Darms Lane Wine

It was established in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley in 1983 as a Chardonnay estate and was known as Crichton Hall Vineyard. The estate was acquired it is totality in 2002 and the 14 acres of original Chardonnay vines were replaced by the Bordeaux varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. In 2005, the first estate grown Darms Lane Cabernet Sauvignon was produced.

Today, Darms Lane produces around 500 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon, 400 cases of Chardonnay and 250 cases of Pinot Noir every year.

Wolf Family Vineyards

Wolf Family Vineyards offers four estate grown wines in artisanal quantities hand made by Karen Culler in the small winery and cave on the estate: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc and Phaedrus, a blend from the youngest vines on the property. A fortuitous combination of the demanding standards of the winemaker and the family’s “no compromises” philosophy results in wine that pleases the collector’s long term palate. Total winery production averages 1000 cases per year.

Chiron Wines

Wine is a magnificent creation formed by the union of natue with cultue. To sybolize this idea Mark McCoy and Bobby Moy include a stylized key, the symbol for Chiron to represent the "I" in Chiron. In January of 2020 Chieron wines became a winery partner with The Studio at Feast It Forward. 1031 McKinstry Street in downtown Napa. You can do a walk-in or call ahead for a private tasting.

Mount Veeder Winery

The thin rocky soils and rugged terrain on Mount Veeder make farming the vineyard a challenge. Cultivation and harvesting are done entirely by hand. Water is scarce and drains quickly through the volcanic mountain soil. The vines grow slowly and produce small clusters and intensely concentrated berries resulting in extremely low yields; as little as half that of vineyards on the valley floor.

Farming on the mountain is definitely demanding. But were rewarded with wines that show intensity and depth, with rich, earthy tannins and bold, dark fruit flavor.

Dillon Vineyards

Dillon Vineyards is a small vineyard, located in the Yountville Appellation, south of the town of Yountville on the floor of the Napa Valley. This unique location has an exceptionally delicate micro climate for growing Chardonnay grapes.

Bardessono Vineyards

Creator of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc from Yountville, Napa Valley.
For over 80 years, the Bardessono family has been farming grapes and providing fruit for some of Napa Valley's most prestigious producers. John Bardessono and his brother-in-law, Martin Zucco, purchased the Yountville vineyard property in 1926 with earnings from their work in an old copper mine. Eventually, the land was handed down to John's sons, Pete and Steve, who continued to farm wine grapes and sold them to prominent Napa Valley wineries for over 50 years. Again, the property was handed down to Pete's son Tom, who is the current owner and manager of Bardessono Vineyards today.

Markham Vineyards

I came here on Sunday at 11am and it was empty! I was so glad we could get personal service. Ryan was friendly and knowledgable. I love the merlot but after the estate tasting, I fell in love with the Altruist as well. As mentioned by others, the exterior of the building is beautiful but the interior looks like a highway rest stop. While sipping our last wine, we were able to browse the gallery containing rock and roll photos which used grace the cover of Rolling Stone.
Like other Napa wineries it can get busy in peak season.

W.H. Smith Wines

W.H. Smith makes fantastic pinot noir and they now have a tasting room in Calistoga. They make about 5 different pinots: Sonoma coast, Helenthal, Umino, Maramar, and Maritime (a proprietary blend). They also make cabernets but I think the pinots are way more to my taste.

Amuse Bouche Wine

The wine is really great...but the price point is also really high. Obviously Heidi Barrett, who was the winemaker for Screaming Eagle, has set a uber high standard for herself so perhaps the Amuse warrants the nearly $300 price tag.

Tudal Family Winery

Tudal Winery lies just a grape's throw off Hwy 29 on the northern edge of St. Helena along the Napa River within the shadow of the eastern mountains. Visitors of any age can find something to explore, whether it is the array of Napa Valley wines; our bocce court, the enticing flower and produce gardens or the collection of historic farm tractors, tools and bygone novelties that make up a fascinating agricultural retrospective.
